Certificate in Phlebotomy and Laboratory Services

Connecticut Phlebotomy courses

Are You Interested In Specializing In Health Care?

Our Phlebotomy program will guide you along the path to becoming a skilled health professional. A Phlebotomist is an integral member of the medical laboratory team. Laboratory scientists, technologists, and technicians require blood specimens obtained promptly, efficiently, and safely by qualified Phlebotomists.

To quickly establish trust from your patients, you must have excellent interpersonal skills; be a strong communicator; and have a working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and venipuncture techniques. In our phlebotomy classes, you will learn to conduct venous and capillary specimen collection effectively; perform basic laboratory testing; and demonstrate lab safety techniques.

To acquire hands-on working knowledge of the field, you will intern in a health care facility or clinical laboratory. Your internship will provide you with the opportunity to apply knowledge and skill in performing clinical phlebotomy procedures.
