English as a Second Language (ESL) Program

where to learn english in Connecticut

We believe that everyone should have access to a quality education. At Goodwin College, our ESL courses are available to qualified students at little-to-no cost (income guidelines and residency requirement apply. The student is responsible for the cost of the application fee and books). International students adhere to different requirements.

Goodwin College has a long history in offering our ESL program to those in our community looking to grow their language skills. We are pleased to now offer two additional levels of ESL to bring students more specialized training in English. Our first four levels of ESL training cover everything from fundamental grammar to conversation and essential writing and reading. Our last two levels engage students in college-level mastery of the English language. Our ESL program prepares non-native English speakers for college-level classes and career advancement by improving proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English.

Benefits of our ESL program include:

  • Diverse student population
  • Experienced faculty
  • Financial aid opportunities
  • Flexible schedules (day and evening classes)
  • Free tutoring opportunities
  • Small class sizes
