Advising for Prospective Students

Applicant Academic Advising Department: Room 133

Our prospective student advisors are committed to providing you with the tools necessary for continued success throughout your time here at Goodwin College. Based on your program of interest, we can create a plan of study that will guide you from your first semester through to graduation. Remember to bring any previous college transcripts you may have to your meeting with an Admissions Representative as this will be beneficial to your advising session. We look forward to meeting you and discussing your academic goals and aspirations.

Years Advising: 3 years
Education: Graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and a minor in Child Psychology.
Why I became an advisor: I enjoy working with our students who arrive with lots of anticipation and in many cases a great deal of trepidation. It is very rewarding to see that I provide support, guidance as well as advice to students so that they can make a more informed decision about their future here at Goodwin. It also gives me great comfort to see how encouraged as well as hopeful students feel, once they have moved from being somewhat doubtful and hesitant to that level of excitement and accomplishment, knowing they have taken that big step in becoming a student.
Why I enjoy working with Goodwin students: I like how our student population represents a diverse spectrum of individuals, unique personalities, with a variety of talent, skills, values, and dreams. They come with a host of expectations, concerns and ideas as well as reasons for attending college.
Advice for Students: Clarify and understand your reasons for attending school, commit to achieving them, and with your steady patience, gradually realize the difference you will make for yourself and those dear to you once you have reached your goal of going from student to graduate.
