Meet Kid Care Program Director: Jill Brown
Jill Brown is a seasoned child care educator with decades of experience. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in social work from Southern Illinois University, she continued on to earn her master’s degree in education from Roosevelt University. Jill began teaching and learning in Chicago, and has taught in communities throughout New Orleans, Las Vegas, and New York. She specializes in leading diverse learning communities to challenge themselves and take risks. Most notably, her recognitions include Meritas Schools Excellence in Teaching Award and Volunteer Award Youth Rebuilds New Orleans.
We work to create a stimulating learning atmosphere within the Kid Care space that encourages curiosity, risk-taking, confidence, and acceptance. I believe that children should be actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. By setting a good example and executing diverse, effective hands-on experiences, we assist in the shaping of values and positive work habits. I foster a safe, inviting learning environment, and strive to encourage, nurture, and guide children to meet the challenges of everyday life.
"Knowledge is Power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family."
