At Goodwin University, service — and being a good neighbor — is part of our institutional fabric. Our students participate in community service activities both as a required part of their college experience and as a voluntary, enriching activity that gives back to the community. Our employees are also encouraged to take an active role in service activities throughout the state, and beyond.

Community Garden - The Goodwin University Community Garden, founded in 2012, is dedicated to sharing the joy of gardening with our community, including our students, employees, and our neighbors in East Hartford. It is open from sunrise to sunset every day.

Movies Under the Stars – The popular drive-in movie summer series is located in the parking lot of the main Goodwin building. Admission is free and concessions are sold to benefit the Goodwin University Early Childhood Education Club.

Rebuild Together – Goodwin faculty, staff, and students participate in Rebuild Together in an effort to benefit the lives and homes of at-risk and in-need Connecticut residents.

Food & Clothing Drives – Goodwin committees sponsor food and clothing drives for those in need during the holiday season.

Food Pantry – Transitions, The University's food pantry, collects donations for students and families in need.
