Goodwin University is an innovative learning community that empowers hard-working students to become sought-after employees.

We tailor our programs to address the needs of employers, and we shape them to fit the lives of students. Classes are conveniently offered year-round — days, evenings, weekends, and online. Degrees may be flexibly layered across certificate, associate, bachelor's, and master's programs in a variety of in-demand fields.

Phase IV of Goodwin University trail plan brings residents closer to the beauty of the Connecticut River

With the recent completion of Phase IV of the University’s walking trail plan, the public can now travel southward more easily from Goodwin’s East Hartford campus. The new construction includes an additional 1,200 feet of paved, ADA-compliant trails from the end of the woodlands trail to the Wethersfield line.

How to Balance College and Work Effectively

The definition of “college student” is changing. No longer are colleges filled solely with young, high school graduates pursuing their first degree. Today, colleges also have a diversity of older students who are transferring in, going back to school for a second time, or pursuing college after being in the workforce or raising a family.

What is the PMHNP Scope of Practice?

Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, or PMHNPs, are specialized advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). To become a PMHNP, like other types of APRNs, students must obtain a concentrated master’s degree and relevant professional experience, on top of a bachelor’s degree and an existing registered nurse (RN) license.
