Provide critical support to patients and medical teams
LPNs are highly skilled nursing professionals with the training needed to support registered nurses, medical doctors, and other healthcare professionals while providing excellent nursing care to clients in various backgrounds. When you become an LPN, you’ll be responsible for recording vitals, reporting patients’ statuses to RNs and doctors, changing wound dressings, and more! In addition to working with physicians to provide effective care, LPNs offer comfort and support to patients and their loved ones. Already a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)? Goodwin’s Practical Nursing program is a great path for CNAs looking to take the next step in their careers! LPNs have opportunities to perform more advanced nursing tasks that contribute to a patient’s overall care plan, including administering medications, assessing patient conditions, and even specializing in areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or critical care nursing.

Get prepared to successfully complete the NCLEX
After completing Goodwin’s Practical Nursing certificate program, you must sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) before you can begin practicing. This exam will evaluate you based on your ability to demonstrate safe and effective care, health promotion and maintenance, and psychosocial and physiological integrity. While Goodwin doesn’t administer this exam, our certificate program will prepare you with the knowledge, training, and confidence necessary to help you take this qualifying exam.
