Math tutors
See our math tutor flyer for easy scheduling!

I spent most of my career working as an environmental scientist, investigating and cleaning-up hazardous waste sites so that they could be returned to beneficial use for residential or commercial development. This work required a significant amount of math and chemistry, not to mention patience and tolerance for endless bureaucracy! My MA is in Metallurgy and Materials Science, but my life took a rather different direction and it all worked out very well. I have tutored math and chemistry extensively and enjoy working with students for all ages; adult, middle school and high school students. I enjoy helping students realize that math and chemistry do not have to be sources of horror and trepidation! Anyone can succeed in these subjects — regardless of their doubts or fears. As my mom always said — &ldqyo;Where there’s a will there’s a way!” My goal is to help students see what they are capable of, which in many cases means letting go of fears and misconceptions of their own abilities

I have been a professional English tutor at Goodwin since 2011, and I have been learning from students as I journey along with them, finding strengths and remedying weak spots. I have taught high school English, as well as adult GED students, but my mainstay has been working as an adjunct composition professor at Manchester Community College since 1999.

I've been a professional tutor over fifteen years. During my college and high school life, academics never came easy to me; however, I had people that believed in me more than I believed in myself. Their belief in me led to a bunch of academic awards and graduating with honors. Now I get an opportunity to share their wisdom with everyone that I tutor. It is my belief that tutoring is inspiration, navigation, and education.
- Inspiration: Inspire through stories and analogies
- Navigation: navigate people through the rough academic waters
- Education: Educate course matter using real life scenarios
