International Student Services
Getting to Goodwin University
If you are arriving at an airport in the US and living in Goodwin housing, you will need to get yourself and your belongings to Goodwin University. The IPO recommends arriving at the College during office hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a week day, Monday through Friday. That way, someone from the International Student Services team is here to welcome you.
If you cannot arrive during these days and hours, please let us know as soon as possible. We will have to make arrangements for the Goodwin University Security staff to be aware of your estimated arrival time. It is important to the International Student Services team that you arrive and are able to enter your housing.
International Students in the area frequently arrive through Boston Logan (2-hour drive to campus) and JFK New York Airports (3-hour drive to campus). There are international flights available for arrival to Bradley International Airport (45-minute drive to campus). At each of these airports there are transportation methods available to get you to the Goodwin University Campus. This can be expensive so please make sure that you research this before you depart. The IPO can help advise you on the costs that companies are asking to get you here.
If you are living with family, friends or a sponsor in the greater Hartford area, there are many ways to get to the Goodwin Campus. Please plan to arrive for New International Student Orientation on the day and date that the IPO tells you for your starting semester. Your attendance at this Orientation is required and if you cannot make the date and time, you will have to reschedule.
