Our Mission

The mission of the Summer Bridge Academy is to bridge students who have just completed high school into a collegiate setting while helping them transition into lifelong learners personally, emotionally, and academically.

Eligibility Requirements

Summer Bridge participants must be 2018 or 2019 high school graduates or 2017 graduates who haven't yet taken college courses.

About The Program

The Summer Bridge Academy is a tuition free, six-week program where students can earn up to six transferable college credits by taking two of the following courses: English Composition, Contemporary Mathematics, Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Popular Music, or Topics in Arithmetic. Students will experience leadership development and weekly events on- and off-campus.

Program Benefits

  • Students can earn up to six collegiate credits in six weeks, while building self-confidence, developing self-advocacy skills, and learning public speaking strategies.
  • Summer Bridge Academy students who enroll at Goodwin College within 12 months of graduation are eligible to receive a $10,000 scholarship.
  • During the program, students participate in team building exercises, leadership activities, and a community service learning project.
  • Participants also have the opportunity to be selected for Goodwin’s Education Opportunity Program which includes 50% off tuition and books.
