Basketball Club

The Goodwin University Club Basketball Team plays in the NIRSA Region One league, competing in the Northeast Conference, with opponents including: Harvard, Yale, UConn, Dartmouth, Springfield College, American International College, Southern New Hampshire State University, St. Johns Universit, and Princeton. The team practices and plays out of the Connecticut River Academy gymnasium, located on the north end of the Riverside Campus. The season starts in October and runs through March; with the culmination being the annual Staff v Student game. The team plays in three major tournaments, at American International College’s Turkey Invitational in November, at Boston University’s Northeast Regional Invitational in January, and at UMass Amherst’s Minuteman Tournament in March.

Flag Football Club

The Navigators Flag Football Club gets together once a week in the afternoons beginning in July, and also play in the NIRSA Northeast Regional league. Past opponents include Ithaca, UMass, Boston University, Boston College, Springfield College, Assumption College and Curry College. The practices take place in front of The University on The University lawn. The season concludes with the NIRSA Regional Flag Football Tournament played at Springfield College.

Football Club

The Navigators Football Club plays in the NIRSA Region One league, as a member of the Constitution Division, along with UConn, Yale, Sacred Heart, Connecticut College, Brown, The United States Coast Guard Academy, and the United States Military Academy at West Point. The season runs from August through November and consists of practices and games against teams in and around New England.

Soccer Club

The Goodwin University Soccer Club, formed in the fall of 2011, was the second venture into team athletics by The University (preceded by Basketball in 2010). The intramural teams support both men’s and women’s play, in all abilities, and compete in various matches during the fall and winter, including 4 v 4 on Campus, and 7 v 7 indoor contests.
