that prepares you for a career in
laboratories in the following settings:
hospitals, privative labs, veterinary
labs, and industrial research and public
health facilities. The diagnosis of
life-threatening diseases depends upon
the results obtained by the histotechnician who must be precise,
- According to CT Hospital Association
2003 Salary Survey, Histotechnicians can
earn an average salary of
$40,000-$58,000 annually.
- Graduates are eligible to take the
national examination given by the
American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
which leads to certification as a
Histotechnician (HT). Graduates that
possess a baccalaureate degree may be
eligible to sit for the
Histotechnologist (HTL) national
examination
- One-hundred percent (100%)* of the
Goodwin College Histotechnician
graduates have passed the national ASCP
Board of Registry Exam *As of Nov 2008.
