Scholarships - Spring 2013
Selection for scholarships is based on a number of factors including a combination of submission of interest by the student, an essay or video testimonial (sometimes required, but always encouraged), recommendation by faculty and/or staff, and ultimate selection by the Goodwin College Scholarship Committee.

American Eagle Federal Credit Union Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Criteria:- Enrolled in either Associate or Bachelor’s Degree program in Business Administration
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
- Earned a minimum of 12 credits
- Be in need of financial assistance*

American Legion Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $500
Criteria:- Veteran enrolled at Goodwin College
- Preference given for student displaying both merit and need*

Connecticut Sun Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $2,500
Criteria:- Goodwin College student returning to school after having not attended high school- or college-level courses for a period of 3 years or more

East Hartford Woman’s Club Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
Criteria:- Female resident of East Hartford
- Completed at least half of her degree program
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Participate in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at the College or in the East Hartford community
- Be in need of financial assistance*

Scholarship for Future Nurses
Scholarship Amount: $500
Criteria:- Nursing major nearing the end of his or her program (registered in Nursing 210 or 220 for the fall semester, 2013)
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
- Application

- How is Goodwin College different? Why is it the College for you?
- What do you bring to the future of nursing? Include examples of your own initiative, assets you gained from the Goodwin College Nursing Program, your own personal growth during the process and how you will demonstrate your enthusiasm and passion for nursing.
Scholarship for Dawning Nurses
Scholarship Amount: $5,000
Criteria:- Nursing major nearing the end of his or her program (registered in Nursing 210 or 220 for the fall semester, 2013)
- Preference given for student displaying both merit and need*

Wireless Zone Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Criteria:- Enrolled in either Associate or Bachelor Degree programs in the Nursing or Health Science program.

Instructions for YouTube Submissions Scholarship Application
Choose your medium! The essay portion of the scholarship application is a great opportunity for you to tell your story, your way. Submit a video of your responses OR a written essay with your application.
* Financial need is determined by the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated on the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR)
