Family nurse practitioner

FNPs are advanced practice nurses who provide primary care to patients across the lifespan. They assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions while promoting health and disease prevention within families and communities.

Goodwin University’s post-master’s FNP certificate is designed for nurses who already hold an MSN and are eager to expand their scope of practice in primary care. Through focused coursework and immersive learning experiences, this certificate prepares you to step confidently into advanced primary care roles.

Psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner

PMHNPs are advanced practice nurses who specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and behavioral conditions. They help patients navigate mental illness, serving as essential voices in addressing mental health stigma and improving access to care across healthcare systems.

Our post-master’s PMHNP certificate offers MSN-prepared nurses a pathway to specialize in advanced psychiatric practice. The program focuses on strengthening clinical judgement in mental health assessment, treatment planning, and care management — preparing you for expanded responsibility in a high-need area of advanced practice nursing.
