Provide critical support to patients and medical teams

LPNs are highly skilled nursing professionals with the training needed to support registered nurses, medical doctors, while providing excellent nursing care to clients in diverse backgrounds. When you earn your certificate and become an LPN, you’ll be responsible for recording vitals, reporting patients’ statuses to RNs and doctors, changing wound dressings, and more! In addition to working with physicians to provide effective care, LPNs offer comfort and support to patients and their loved ones. When you earn your LPN certificate at Goodwin, you’ll lay the groundwork for a sought-after career providing efficient and compassionate care to your community.

Take your patient care skills to the next level

Goodwin’s LPN program is a great path for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) looking to take the next step in their careers! CNAs often assist in the feeding, monitoring, bathing, and transportation of patients. While those responsibilities are vital to healthcare teams, LPNs have opportunities to perform more advanced nursing tasks that contribute to a patient’s overall care plan. LPNs can administer medications, assess patient conditions, and even specialize in areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or critical care nursing.

A flexible path to a career that counts

At Goodwin, our LPN program is designed to meet your personal and professional needs. It’s offered in the days and evenings, and in both part-time and full-time class formats. You can even complete the LPN program in 16‑28 months. At Goodwin, we’re all about convenience — because you deserve it!

Develop your skills with hands-on clinical training

As an LPN student at Goodwin University, you’ll benefit from a comprehensive curriculum taught by expert Nursing faculty. Moreover, your learning won’t be limited to the classroom. With clinical opportunities available throughout the state, you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience in the field. Between faculty instruction and clinical coursework, you’ll develop the knowledge, experience, and insight necessary to make informed decisions in various healthcare situations — preparing you for success on the NCLEX-PN and beyond!

Get prepared to successfully complete the NCLEX

After completing Goodwin’s LPN certificate program, you must sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) before you can begin practicing. This exam will evaluate you based on your ability to demonstrate safe and effective care, health promotion and maintenance, and psychosocial and physiological integrity. While Goodwin doesn’t administer this exam, our certificate program will prepare you with the knowledge, training, and confidence necessary to help you take this qualifying exam.
