Support Services and Acknowledgement of SAP Warning Status

The warning status for Satisfactory Academic Progress serves as a formal notice that your academic standing requires improvement to align with the SAP requirements in subsequent semesters. It is an opportunity for you to address any challenges you may be facing and take proactive steps to enhance your academic performance.

To assist you in this process, we recommend the following actions:

  1. Schedule a meeting with your academic advisor to discuss your current academic standing and develop a plan for improvement.
  2. Take advantage of academic support services such as tutoring, study groups, and academic counseling to strengthen your understanding of course material and improve your grades.
  3. Engage with your instructors regularly to seek clarification on assignments, feedback on your progress, and guidance on how to succeed in your courses.
  4. Evaluate your study habits and time management skills to ensure that you are effectively balancing your academic responsibilities and other commitments.

It is important to note that failure to make satisfactory academic progress during the warning period may result in the loss of financial aid eligibility in subsequent semesters. Therefore, we encourage you to take this opportunity seriously and make the necessary changes to achieve academic success.

Resources

The following resources are available as you work towards good academic standing. A meeting to discuss which resources would be of maximum benefit is required for all students who are on Academic Warning status.

Academic Success Center (ASC)

The ASC provides services for all registered Goodwin Students at no cost. Professional and peer tutors are available by appointment or on a walk-in basis. However, because walk-ins can’t always be accommodated, it is recommended that students schedule an appointment by calling the number below or visiting the ASC desk on the library’s 2nd floor. Students are allowed a maximum of 60 minutes per subject area per day.
