Maybe the healthcare careers you normally think of–doctors, nurses, dentists, hygienists, pharmacists–don\u2019t appeal to you. Healthcare science teaches a variety of sub-disciplines that all involve the application of science to health. As part of Goodwin College\u2019s associate and bachelor health science degree programs<\/a>, we offer a \u201cHealth Care Career Exploration\u201d track for students who have not yet set eyes on a specific medical profession; you can take courses in nutrition and human health, environmental law and public policy, epidemiology and public health, healthcare administration, or even alternative medicine. The programs at Goodwin embrace students of all interests and backgrounds, giving you the opportunity to take the health science courses that best meet your educational and professional goals.<\/p>\n

Healthcare science is a growing sector of healthcare. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the healthcare industry is expected to add more jobs than any other group of occupations in the coming years, meaning that employers will need trained, medical professionals to fill them. Within a decade, over 2.3 million jobs will become available to active job seekers who have a healthcare education under their belts.<\/p>\n

Many students pursue this rewarding, flexible degree program due to the large number of career options available to job seekers with a healthcare science degree. At the bachelor\u2019s degree level<\/a>, students can earn careers ranging from community health educators to healthcare administrators; medical sales to nutritionists; medical technologists to researchers. At the associate\u2019s degree level<\/a>, you can specialize in a clinical field, finding careers from sonographers and medical lab technicians; pharmacy technicians to health science writers; and so much more!<\/p>\n
