The 12th Annual Goodwin College Golf Tournament took place on September 13 at Topstone Golf Course in South Windsor, Connecticut. The Goodwin community looks forward to this event every year for sponsors and scholarship recipients to meet on the links. This year, $81,000 was raised for the Goodwin College Foundation to benefit Goodwin students \u2014 an increase of more than $10,000 from last year.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and golfers, the money raised during the tournament will provide scholarships<\/a> for hard-working Goodwin College students. Several of the recipients spoke at the event including Loretta Gagne, a student in Goodwin\u2019s Public Health Administration program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gagne balances her college studies with a career as a pediatric LPN, marriage, and caring for her son. \u201cI am very honored to receive this gift,\u201d she said. \u201cWithout the help of this scholarship, I would not be able to continue my educational goals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two other golf scholarship recipients, Katelyn David and Dareem Maynard, also spoke at the event and expressed their gratitude for the support they receive from this tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese students have overcome obstacles and continue to excel at their studies,\u201d Brooke Penders, Vice President of Advancement, said. \u201cThis tournament gives them the additional resources they need to finish strong and fulfill their dreams of making a better life for themselves and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n
