The Hartford Business Journal<\/em> has announced the eight winners of its 2017 Women in Business award, and among the honorees is Ann Clark, Goodwin College\u2019s Executive Vice President and Provost.<\/p>\n

For the 15th anniversary of its Women in Business awards, the Hartford Business Journal<\/em> focused on the theme of “legacy,” the accomplishments these women would \u201clike to leave behind, and insights into how they maintain long-term success and a satisfying work-life balance amid busy professional and personal schedules.\u201d The winners were nominated by readers and selected by a panel of independent judges, which this year included Anne L. Elvgren (Elvgren Associates), Ted Carroll (Leadership Greater Hartford), and Amanda Mueller (Cashman + Katz Integrated Communications).<\/p>\n

The 2017 Women in Business honorees are:

\nKimberly L. Beauregard, InterCommunity Inc.
\nAnn Clark, Goodwin College
\nManon Cox, Protein Sciences Corporation
\nJennifer DelMonico, Murtha Cullina LLP
\nKaren Goyette, Hartford HealthCare
\nDawn Morris, Webster Bank
\nElizabeth Winsor, UnitedHealthcare National Accounts, UnitedHealthcare<\/p>\n

The Women in Business celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 10, at the Hartford Hilton, 315 Trumbull Street, Hartford, 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The keynote speaker is Teresa C. Younger, president and CEO of Ms. Foundation for Women.<\/p>\n

In reflecting on this recognition in an interview with the Hartford Business Journal<\/em>, Ms. Clark offered, \u201cI think probably the best characteristic for this job is I’m a little bit fearless about talking about things. And as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten more fearless, not less.\u201d<\/p>\n

That fearlessness, along with her ability to make tough decisions in what President Mark Scheinberg refers to as a \u201cvery, very honest and authentic way,\u201d has earned Ms. Clark the respect and admiration of her students and colleagues alike. As for her legacy, in the Hartford Business Journal<\/em> article she reflects \u201con a safe, supportive environment where hard-working students can thrive and reach their highest personal and professional potential.\u201d<\/p>\n
