In order to meet the ever-increasing need for graduates who are truly ready to hire, colleges are searching for ways to ensure their students will succeed not only in the classroom, but in their ultimate goal of finding satisfying careers as well. Research has identified that making thoughtful, strategic career preparedness integral to the academic curriculum empowers students to be confident \u2014 and successful \u2014 in their job search process.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/majors\/management-leadership\/\">Management and Leadership training<\/a> program at Goodwin College incorporates a unique Career Preparedness Initiative that places critical, carefully timed career service \u201ccheckpoints\u201d into key courses. These enable students to have resumes, cover letters, and other vital material at the ready \u2014 <em>before <\/em>the interview process begins.<\/p>\n<p>Being well prepared applies to more than just a finely tuned resume. Within their course of study, students cultivate the interpersonal skills that will ultimately help them to stand out to prospective employers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Career Preparedness initiative integrates academics and career development into a seamless curriculum that increases students\u2019 chances for success in attaining their desired leadership position in their respective fields,\u201d said Michael Wolter, Director of Goodwin College\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/majors\/management-leadership\/bs-degree-program-outcomes\">Management and Leadership program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Skill building includes strategizing the application process, developing a resume and cover letter portfolio, strengthening interpersonal communication, and becoming versed in business etiquette.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt starts with their first course,\u201d Wolter explains. \u201cGradually acquiring and practicing these skills along the way, rather than waiting for a panicked pre-graduation rush, significantly increases students\u2019 mastery of these standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/goodwin43-px.rtrk.com\/landingpages\/mgmt-leadership?utm_source=RLMLeadership&amp;utm_medium=paid&amp;utm_campaign=RLMLeadership\"><u>Learn more about the Management and Leadership program at Goodwin College.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s economy and competitive job market demand more educational training than in previous decades.
