The second Annual Local Invention Convention for Independent Study Students, ages 5 to 13, will take place on April 6, 2016 at Goodwin College Business and Manufacturing Center in East Hartford, Connecticut.<\/p>\n

These students have been working on inventions to solve problems of their own choosing as part of the CT Invention Convention, a 33-year-old program designed to develop, encourage, and enhance critical thinking skills through invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship. A local invention convention is the first opportunity for students to present their inventions to judges and to each other, and receive important feedback and encouragement.<\/p>\n

Members of Goodwin’s Manufacturing school<\/a> teaching staff will recognize all of the young inventors and select those who will move on to the CT State Final Invention Convention on April 30. The public is welcome to tour the inventions and speak with the inventors before and after judging time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
