Junior Achievement of Southwest New England has announced the selection of Goodwin College president Mark Scheinberg<\/strong> as one of its 2016 Business Hall of Fame Laureates. He will share the honor with Edible Arrangements International founder and CEO Tariq Farid and Farmington Bank chairman and CEO John J. Patrick. Junior Achievement honors Hall of Fame Laureates for their leadership, success in business, and community involvement. Past recipients include entrepreneurs, CEOs, and presidents of both public and private companies, who have achieved extraordinary successes and continue to help shape Connecticut.<\/p>\n

In his January 11 letter, event committee member Jeffrey Hoffman of the Hoffman Auto Group remarked, \u201cI know that this award will bring even more awareness to Mark\u2019s incredible contributions to the higher education landscape in Connecticut, and at the same time highlight Goodwin College\u2019s commitment to hard-working people looking to transform their lives through education.\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon learning of the distinction, Scheinberg said, \u201cIt really is an honor to be recognized along with Mr. Farid and Mr. Patrick. We are all working to strengthen the economies in our communities and our region. Goodwin uses education to instill confidence and self-awareness in our students so that they are prepared to contribute to the workforce and take the important next steps in their careers.\u201d<\/p>\n
