{"id":2194,"date":"2015-12-03T16:44:01","date_gmt":"2015-12-03T20:44:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/enews\/?p=2194"},"modified":"2024-12-16T16:40:52","modified_gmt":"2024-12-16T21:40:52","slug":"paulson-visits-move-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/enews\/paulson-visits-move-program\/","title":{"rendered":"United Bank VP Spends an Afternoon with MOVE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On November 17, David Paulson, Executive Vice President and Head of Wholesale Banking for United Bank, visited with Goodwin College&rsquo;s MOVE (Men of Vision in Education) program during their weekly meeting. Paulson is an experienced middle market lending professional with more than two decades of experience in leading teams in New York, Connecticut, Boston, and Washington, D.C. Throughout his career, he has maintained responsibility for both sales management and credit approval. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/eop\/move\/\">MOVE program<\/a> participants were eager to benefit from Paulson&rsquo;s expertise.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He is an exemplary role model who showed the importance of discovering happiness,&rdquo; said MOVE participant Lamar Scott, who is pursuing a career in business\/finance and plans to utilizing psychology-based methods of socialization to better connect with consumers.<\/p>\n<p>Paulson spoke to the students with candor about overcoming life&rsquo;s adversities and how it relates to achieving success. He engaged the group in a question\/answer session on career and goal setting advice, and spoke about the generational need for professionals in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/majors\/manufacturing\/\">manufacturing<\/a>, engineering, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/majors\/human-services\/\">human services<\/a> &mdash; all of which are intended areas of study among many of the MOVE members. This information helped to personalize the discussion and further impact the audience.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Mr. Paulson knows exactly what to say to relate to us,&rdquo; shared another MOVE member, Ian Leupold. &ldquo;He was able to reach me by connecting the rough spots in his life to the extraordinary moments that he is experiencing.
