She and her husband currently live in South Windsor with their young children.<\/p>\n<p>She\u00a0and her husband initially chose South Windsor due in large part to the good public school system, but eventually came to feel that the educational philosophy and teaching style of a magnet school were more in line with what they believed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that a school should follow the pace of the students individually,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>Both of her children are enrolled in the Riverside Magnet School at Goodwin College (formerly the Goodwin College Early Childhood Magnet School). This September her son will be entering second grade and her daughter will be going into first.<\/p>\n<p>She\u00a0describes the school environment as bright and fun. \u201cThe teachers are so friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/enews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/raviwongse-1-300x247.jpg\" alt=\"raviwongse-1\" width=\"300\" height=\"247\" \/>She is delighted that her children are having fun at school and \u201clearning without knowing they\u2019re learning.\u201d Both children entered kindergarten unable to recite the alphabet; by the end of the year, they were reading on a second grade level. \u201cThey were taught to read without stress and enjoyed the process,\u201d\u00a0she observed.<\/p>\n<p>She recalled a school project involving recyclables in which the children learned to make unused products into something new. \u201cThey turned a box that I was going to throw away into a robot,\u201d she stated. \u201cI really think that creativity comes from the school. They foster that type of thinking at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodwin.edu\/magnet-schools\/riverside-magnet-school\/\">Riverside Magnet School<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She also commented on the school\u2019s progressiveness. \u201cThey have friends who attend public school and seem to be bored, whereas my children <em>want<\/em> to go to school.
