5th Annual Goodwin College Foundation Golf Tournament – September 22, 2010
This year, the Foundation will host its 5th Annual Golf Tournament to raise funds for scholarships. Each year the Tournament is increasingly successful: over $100,000 was raised last year through support from sponsors and golfers. This day of fun celebrates the College’s crucial business partners and concludes with a banquet at which we present scholarships to students in need.

Half Moon
For its 3rd year, the Half Moon tall ship returns! The replica of Henry Hudson’s 1609 ship of exploration is a traveling museum conducting hands-on history, science and teambuilding lessons. Half Moon enriches the College’s programs by bringing students to the Connecticut River. The 2-week celebration has brought extensive media coverage to campus, including print, radio and TV, and is anticipated to attract over 3,000 visitors this year.

2nd Annual Community Health and Wellness Day
Goodwin College students lead jam-packed lives that exceed the term “busy.” Learning how to live a healthy life “on the go” is crucial to our students’ well-being! Community Health and Wellness Day provides an opportunity for the community, students and employees to learn from local vendors and educators about healthy lifestyles, healthcare options, alternative medicine, and “green” living, as well as to benefit from health screenings and yoga classes. In addition, the College’s Alumni Leadership Committee sponsors a bone marrow donor screening. Last year, this event attracted hundreds to campus as well as local media coverage!

Commencement
Commencement marks the culmination of the College’s mission. It is the last step on the bridge the College creates between education and industry. As the College grows, so does our number of graduates. This year, we expect a crowd of 1,500 under the tent, including graduates and their families.

In addition, we will be hosting a leadership donor event around commencement where our biggest supporters will have a chance to be a part of a very special awards ceremony and meet our grads. You won’t want to miss this event!
