College Relations and Advancement The mission of the Office of Institutional Advancement is to promote the overall growth of the college and enhance the institution’s standing in the broader community. To accomplish this, Institutional Advancement maintains divisions devoted to development, alumni relations, government / external relations, and communication. Institutional Advancement has led in efforts to secure funding from foundations, government sources, and private donors. In the 2006-07 fiscal year, the office raised over $5 million for the college’s operations, special programs, and campus expansion. The Alumni Relations office, a division of Institutional Advancement, is responsible for planning events and programs to benefit graduates of the college, as well as promoting alumni giving. The Communications office, a division of Institutional Advancement, is responsible for promoting departmental and institutional initiatives both within the organization and to external publics through the production of college publications and outreach to the news media.
