Please share a little bit about your background and what led you to Goodwin College. I have been an Licensed
Practical Nursing for 23 years and it has always been a dream of mine to
become an Registered Nurse. Goodwin College was the only facility that
offered night and weekend courses that allowed me to work fulltime and go to
school at the same time. I maintained a high GPA and graduated in the top
ten percent of my class. My experience at Goodwin College was great. The instructors were kind, caring, and supportive. Jan Costello was excellent and does a great job with the nursing program. I was impressed with personal attention that the nursing program and Goodwin College offered. I felt as though I was part of a team rather than a number at a facility. What is your favorite quote? “Life is not measured by the
number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” My husband and my daughter inspire me most, because without their love and support, I could not have done this alone. They have been my biggest cheerleaders, and when I felt like I couldn’t do it, they were the catalysts of encouragement. What do you hope to do after
leaving college? Do you have a role model? Who? My role models have always been my parents. They have always been the ones who told me that I could do or be anything I wanted. They had more faith in me than I had in myself. It is since their death that I have realized their faith and support in me. I wish my parents were here physically to witness this milestone…and since they are not, I will carry them with me, and they are present in my life daily. Salli graduates from Goodwin College on Sunday, June 13.
