In order to graduate from a degree program at Goodwin College, General Education courses are required. With the exception of English Composition, a requirement for all, students may select their courses from within a group of seven competencies until they have met all General Education requirements for graduation.
Each competency represents a specific topic aligned with the mission of the college and is designated by a code. Students will master the goals of each competency by passing each required course, meeting their graduation requirements along the way. Students seeking an Associate degree or higher must take general education courses within seven competencies: Communications, Computer Literacy, Cultural, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and Writing. Students seeking a Bachelor's degree have five additional competencies to complete.
