Watch: Become a Manufacturing Professional at Goodwin College

At Goodwin College, we believe that each one of our students deserves to succeed in a college environment designed just for them.

At Goodwin College, we know just how much of a difference our community makes in the lives of our students. We know how hard our students work, and how many challenges they may have to overcome just to come to class. We know that our students deserve all the support they need, and we absolutely love seeing our students succeed!

If you’re one of the innovators and makers in our state looking to join the manufacturing workforce, we believe that our manufacturing training program is right for you:

Goodwin College is training the future leaders of Connecticut’s manufacturing workforce, and is the first college in Connecticut to partner with the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) to offer nationally-recognized, portable credentials that you will earn on your way to your bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or certificate. A recent survey by the Connecticut Business & Industry Association showed that these kinds of credentials count in hiring decisions for many industry employers!

Our manufacturing and machining degree programs are built around the needs of industry-leading Connecticut manufacturers. To be seen today as a valuable worker — and especially to be considered for advancement — it’s no longer enough just to be able to run a machine. Communication skills, working well with people of diverse backgrounds, and the ability to problem-solve at a higher level are among the most in-demand traits of today’s successful manufacturing professionals. In 2012, CT reported the highest average annual pay per manufacturing employee in the nation. With more than 4,000 manufacturers and employing over 163,000 workers, the manufacturing workforce in CT earns $13.6 billion in wages and salaries annually.
