What’s the Early Childhood Club all about?
The Goodwin College ECE Club is designed to provide students with the support and guidance needed to become involved in early childhood leadership. The students in the ECE club are committed to promote the welfare and education of young children. Our club strives to cultivate fellowship between local community organizations and the Goodwin College student body.

What does the club do?
The club currently has plans to participate in the Health/Science fair on September 30, 2009. We will be setting up and running a table to sponsor our club with the theme of children’s nutrition, with each ECE club member planning an activity and offering their time during the fair.
The club will also sponsor a Scholastic Book Fair on November 30, & December 1-2, 2009 which will directly benefit local East Hartford elementary students as well as the ECE club. During the book fair we will have a family literacy night on Tuesday December 1, 2009 from 5:00 till 7:00 pm with local storytellers and student organized entertainment.
In the future, the club would like to hold food & clothing drives, assist in planning the first ECE conference at Goodwin, and organize educational bus trips for students.

What are the benefits of membership?
Members of the Early Childhood club make a difference in the lives of young children and in doing so enjoy opportunities to develop leadership and communication skills. Our members have built strong friendships, professional development and community service opportunities, and a voice in their college career. Annually our club will elect officers, including a president, treasurer and secretary; each of these roles provide an excellent for career growth and networking here at the college and in the local neighborhoods.

When & where does the club meet?
For the summer 2009 semester, the club meets every other Monday at 5:20 pm in room 402.
