Approval for a Course to have a General Education Perspective and/or Competency Designation

Goodwin College faculty who would like to have a course designated in the catalog as meeting a General Education learning perspective or competency need to:

1. Read the Course Approval Requirements
   
2. Complete the Course Application Form and submit it along with an electronic copy of the course syllabus to Paul LaRocca at PLaRocca@goodwin.edu
   
3. Once a course is approved by the Perspective/Competency Committee, the Chairperson notifies:
   • The Department Chair
   • The Academic Affairs Committee

The Perspective/Competency Committee
The Committee, consisting of General Education faculty, meets monthly to review faculty requests. Committee members work to ensure consistency across the curriculum. Members also serve as resources for faculty outside of General Education who wish to strengthen their course as it relates to the college’s learning perspectives and competencies.
