Biography

Reverend John P. Rohan was born and raised in Manchester, CT where he received his early education. He attended St. Thomas Seminary High School and Junior Colloge where he received an Associates Degree in Classical Languages. He was awarded a B.A. in Philosophy from St. Bonaventure University as well as a Masters of Divinity Degree. Ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Hartford in 1972, Father Rohan spent several years in parish ministry before becoming Co-Director of the Department of Pastoral Care at Hartford Hospital in 1981. While at the Hospital, Father Rohan served on the Ethics Committee and worked to develop an inter-faith model of pastoral care. In 1989 he was appointed pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in South Windsor, where he served until being appointed to St. Rose Parish in East Hartford. Since January of 2005, he has served as pastor of the three parishes in the north end of East Hartford, St. Mary's, St. Rose and St. Isaac Jogues. In addition to his pastoral assignments, Father Rohan taught Communication and Homiletic skills for the Archdiocese of Hartford and serves on the Board of Directors doe the Safe House of South Windsor.
