FS 200 - Family Development Part 1

3 credits (PREREQUISITE/CO-REQUISITES: FS 200)

This is the first of a two course series required to achieve a Family Development Credential (FDC). The content in this course includes skill development in working with families and is recommended for the achievement of developing professional skills in strength based family supports. This course covers the core principals of family development, introduction to the strengths-based approach, understanding of power dynamics, communication, diversity, and strengths-based assessment. This course is a prerequisite to Family Development Part 2. Students who do not intend to work towards their credential are not required to take Family Development Part 2. (Su)
