SWK 410 - Generalist Social Work Practice II (Treatment and Termination)

3 credits (PREREQUISITE: SWK 390)

Generalist Practice II: Treatment and Termination is a foundation level course for Social Work majors and is the second of a three-course series. Generalist Practice II focuses on theories of professional values and skills of the helping process within social work practice during treatment through termination phases of social worker-client relationships. Students will also focus on group intervention as a continuation of skills learned in GP I. The course outline follows the stages of clinical work and coincides with client-worker relationships students have developed in field practice placements. This class emphasizes using strengths-based and culturally informed perspectives as they apply to individuals, families and groups. (F, Sp, Su)
