HSR 410 Research in Human Services

3 credits (PREREQUISITES: HSR 210 and MATH 1XX or higher)

In this course students will learn how to apply quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods of analysis to research. Students will learn how to select a research design appropriate to their intended area of research, conduct a review of the literature related to the research and construct research questions and a hypothesis. In addition, students will learn how to interpret results of research, summarize research findings, and utilize research findings in typical human services applications. Students will conduct original research in an area of interest within the field of human services and write a research paper utilizing traditional elements of research reporting. RE (F, Sp, Su)
