PSY 302 - Infant and Toddler Growth and Development

3 credits (PREREQUISITE: PSY 115)

This course is an in-depth study of the growth and development of young children from conception through three years old. Students will examine developmental milestones and educational theory. Students will have an opportunity to connect theory and developmental milestones to curriculum and environmental planning. Students will learn about various approaches to working with infants and toddlers such as the R.I.E. approach and responsive caregiving. This course will also focus the many ways in which to connect with the families of our youngest children. Students will examine the findings of current brain research
