BUS 246 - Principles and Practice of Real Estate

3 credits (PREREQUISITE: BUS 142 or DEPARTMENTAL PERMISSION)

This course provides the student with all the skills necessary to buy and sell properties within state and industry specific guidelines. Students will understand various principles of real estate such as real property, home ownership, agency, brokerage, buyer representation, interests, ownership and liens. Students will examine legal descriptions of properties and property titles and differentiate among contracts, titles and leases. Students further learn to evaluate the quality of assessments and appraisals. Laws pertaining to fair housing and environmental issues are explored. (F, Su)
