ENG 201 - Introduction to Literature

3 credits (PREREQUISITE: ENG 101)

This course provides students with a broad overview of literary genres, history, and analysis. Students will read, discuss and write about stories, poems, and plays. They will develop strategies for reading with optimal comprehension and will also probe more deeply into the themes, symbols, and other forms of significance that can be found in rich and complex texts by such authors as Shakespeare, Poe, Dickinson, Faulkner, and Morrison.
